The Residence Advisors (RAs) work and live in the building. They are your first point of contact for most issues at Graduate House are here to make sure your experience is a great one. RAs are assigned a specific area of the building that we call their “community,” as well as a curricular programmatic area of focus we call their “pillar.”
Your RA is a great resource if you would like to talk to someone, learn more about U of T, how to get involved, and how to meet new people in and out of Residence. Your RA will also meet with you in a 1-on-1 meeting. These meetings help create a connection, provide you with any tools you may need to be successful in graduate school, and help us get to know the people who live here.

Getting around in a new city can be overwhelming, but Toronto offers a variety of public transit options to help you get to your destination.
Purchasing a Presto card is the easiest way to use the TTC (buses, streetcars, and subways). Presto cards can be purchased online or at a Shoppers Drug Mart.

Your TCard is your physical identification/credential for on-campus purposes. Funds can also be loaded on to your TCard for U of T Bookstore purchases, food/meal plan purchases, and printing/photocopying at participating location on campus.
Visit the Card website for more information and details on where you will pick up your TCard.
There are many grocery stores nearby. The closest one is Metro at the Bloor and Spadina intersection. There is also a T&T supermarket at College and Spadina. Students also commonly order groceries online and have them delivered via Walmart, HelloFresh, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Instacart. Instruct the delivery driver to leave your order in the front door lobby on the designated Food Delivery table and pick it up as soon as you can.
A Scotiabank branch can be found on Spadina and Bloor Street West. There are also other banks such as TD and CIBC at College and Spadina. Please note, we have a variety of banks in the city.
Home supplies can be ordered online from websites such as Amazon and Walmart. There is also a HomeSense south of Grad Houe at Spadina and Adelaide.
